Charity From A Child’s Heart

I usually reserve this particular blog for the funny kid things that happen in my crazy world, but today I want to share something more serious with you.

At the age of 5, my oldest son started a charity called “Mikey’s Helping Place” (MHP).  Over the last year and a half, through the efforts of MHP, we have been able to donate to several of our local charities that focus on helping babies and children, as well as spread information on other deserving charities and send cheerful cards to critically ill children.  Our largest fundraiser was in honor of his 6th birthday and we were able to collect $800 worth of toys for the Pediatrics Department of a local hospital.

This year, as Mikey’s 7th birthday is approaching, we would like to try to do something for the premature babies in the NICU at that hospital and so we are raising funds through a raffle.  If you are interested in helping us, please check out the information on our blog post at Mikey’s Helping Place.

As a mother of 3 healthy babies, I can only begin to imagine what it feels like to have your brand new baby rushed into the NICU.  Here’s hoping we can raise some money to help those babies be released as quickly as possible so that their parents can experience the joys of a healthy baby as well!

Thank you in advance for taking the time to learn more about our little raffle and for helping us help the babies!
